We're proud to be supporting Comic Creators Alliance 2011, a joint endeavor by web and print comic creators to put an end to human trafficking. Namesake is a part of this year's wallpaper that you can get by donating $1 or more to the cause - our Emma is on the very first row! You can find a full list of participants here.

There are currently 27 million people enslaved throughout the world - more than double the number that were enslaved druing the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year. Unlike slavery in the 19th century, what is happening today is happening in secret. It won’t end until awareness is raised, and people like us take a stand.

Each creator contributed a drawing of one of their female characters, and they were combined into a single image. You can either donate to buy a wallpaper, or you can buy a print. The drive lasts from today through January 24. All proceeds will be split evenly between Love 146 and Gracehaven House, both who work with the victims and to prevent this sort of crime.
